Brett's visit, 2 WARM DAYS!!!!, lots and lots of wildlife

#1. BRETT:   Last week Brett (from Kansas City) was here spending his spring break with us... Brad picked him up in Jackson and stayed out there for enough time to do some snowboarding and then came home. It was great to have him. He was a real blessing to me because he played with the boys non stop and they loved every minute of it.. in fact when he would stop just for a bathroom break, Bridge would cry until he came out!!..

#2. NICE DAYS:   Yes....it warmed up for a couple of days and it was glor-i-ous!!!... we took advantage of it and took a walk to a river and threw rocks.. the boys would have done it all day long if i let them (who knew it could be that fun)....

Bridger stood watching while Rylan and I  hopped across the river..

Brett basked in the sun gazing at the scenery....when Dad came home from work, we felt adventurous and decided to hike up this mountain behind our house..

We got about half of the way and Ry guy fell straight in to a cactus...we had to go home and tweeze out all the needles!..

he was such a sport!..

so we thought we'd better play it safe at the park instead..

#3. Wildlife and some horses:  Our neighbor noticed how much the boys love his horses so he was nice enough to keep some food out for us to feed them... Here we are, waiting for them to come to the fence...

these next pics are when Elaine was in town and we were at the Elk refuge in Jackson....we have been seeing so much wildlife lately so I wanted to share.....

that ram was right outside our car...

then we saw these big horn sheep at the whiskey river basin that's pretty close to where we live..

my neighbor Linda calls this group "The Mob"..they travel in a pack of about 15 and they hang out in our neighborhood all the time...they came right up to our window..

So that's a bit of what we've been up to....oh and those nice days....by the end of the week when we took Brett back to the airport, it was back to this...

News Continued...

You might not find this AS exciting as the last post but the two of them compliment each other nicely. We have been rocking and rolling in our 2000 mercury mountaineer since 03'... it has been very good to us as we've used and abused it and traveled many of miles. Now it's developed several issues over the years but was still drivable....until last weekend when it basically died... the Lord is so good though and had a plan for us.. Thankfully when it died, we were in Casper with access to all we needed. After a mechanic deemed it "done" we started praying about our options and found the perfect car to drive home in...Well, not a car....yes people....it's what you're thinking.....two kids...one more on the way......time for the O's to get a VAN......

Hey..the kids seem to be comfy...

and Hunny..might I add that it had not stolen your funky edge and georgousness!..

Actually...you've embraced it because you know it's the best thing for our family, and you..my dear...are a family man, making you cuter than ever to me and now that we have this van with extra space for fitting another car seat, traveling, camping, rocking out to the 80's jams on our new satellite...I'm overjoyed..elated....kiss me you mini-van-driving HUNK...

OVERBOARD....I know.....but anyway...we are praising the Lord for our new additions...and marveling once again in His timing and love for us....thanks for those of you who wrote encouraging and supportive comments on the last one, it was truly good to hear from you...

News Update

Do you remember this post of Rylan all syked up because of his birthday??....Well if you notice, He was showcasing one of his favorite shirts that now has a new meaning!! Have fun watching us explain this to him while he is wearing that same shirt! :)

Did you pick up on Rylan's bit of anxiety about having a baby in the "wilderness"!!... I guess i didn't realize that he was savvy to the fact that we aren't exactly close to certain things...haha....We are truly blessed and thankful to the Lord for giving us another gift of life!.. the baby is due around Oct 17th.. Rylan touches my belly every day and gives the baby a blessing, he is so excited to be a big brother again.. and Bridger..well..he's just oblivious but excited about life in general and I have no doubt that he will be a good big brother too!.... there is actually more to news (non-baby related) but this is a good start for now.....Praise the Lord!!

Catching Up

Hey all!.. just wanted to take the time to say thank you to all of you who show up to Wilderness Love to keep up with our family. We have been traveling for the past couple of weeks ( separately and now back together) and will be back around town this weekend.. There is quite a lot to share when we get back so stay tuned!.. It's has been blessed traveling and always fun for the boys to see new things and play in hotels (plenty of pics of that too!)...Our friend Elaine has left us and we are grateful she came!!.. We have a good friend Brett (from Kansas City) coming to visit next.... it's always good to spend time with him and the boys will surely appreciate another wrestling partner!.. The Lord continues to be so good and faithful to us as we keep walking this journey and taking it day by day.... Until next post......

Adventures for ALL!

Brad is on quite the adventure in sunny LA, California ( At a pastors conference..hopefully taking good pics!)....now we do miss him like crazy but don't feel too bad for us, we are having adventures of our own with a special guest!.....Who do you think it is???......drum roll please....

Enter- Elaine....my sassy, spunky, crazy, cool, beautiful sista from anotha motha.....this girl....

is......

Awesome!!!....... We met at beauty school 8 years ago and it was all kinds of craziness and giggles right from the start. Elaine has been one of those friends that no matter what, we can pick up right where we left off. I love this girl and appreciate her friendship and sisterhood. So when She called last month and said she wanted to come out this week while Brad is gone.. I said yes Yes and YES!!!..
So back to our adventures.... We picked her up in Jackson at the airport (which sits right up against the Tetons, not to shabby) and we've been having all kinds of fun...

not only is she buckets of fun, she is also a big help since Brad's been gone...the boys love her and she's good for taking pictures out of the moon roof while I'm driving....ok maybe I forced her to do this, but...we got a good pic!

here she goes..

good shot girlfriend!...She has also been handy for taking pics so I can actually be in a few :)...

other events....well, what else do you do when the Man's gone and it's just the girls and the kiddos??...Slumber Party!!.....

We miss you Daddy and can't wait to hear about your trip, but just know that we are doing great and having fun with our special guest!!

Company, Cream puffs, Camera, Cuddling

It was a good weekend. The Lord has been answering our prayers to open our home and fill it with people to serve and fellowship with. We hosted a dinner for 3 Albanian missionaries that were here to speak at our church. They were wonderful women with great stories of there journeys on the mission field. We had about 14 adults and 5 kids, Tom from church made the food and I made dessert!

thanks Mom for your famous recipe!!... Here is the crew eating and chatting..

then Ry Guy let me practice..(He thinks I will learn faster by making all kinds of crazy faces)..

Bridge helped too!...He kept His toes very very still :)....

and what's a weekend if you can't lay around after church with Dad and cuddle!..

I've got a PROBLEM....

It's called "Canon Rebel T1i Syndrom".......very serious........ my view of life has become..well...let me just say this- everything and everyone look more beautiful than I remember in my past life (my pre-canon existence)....
the car wash, for example....a somewhat dirty, dingy experience had all of the sudden blossomed in to a beautiful, crisp, work of art as Daddy and Ry Guy scrub away..

hold that pose....

well hello Red Rock Mountain behind our house, were you always that striking?...

Hey horse....did you have that gorgeous mane professionally coiffed?..

now this backside streaks by me every night but toinght it had that special glow...:)

just admitting my problem folks....and I don't even know how to work the thing yet!...oh what fun!!
